Run your Oracle query from your IE8 browser. Just copy it into your clipboard first.

Browser Query Runner-MultiDb

It doesn't matter it is a query from the web or your file - if you can copy it to your clipboard you can run it from your browser in just 2 steps. And run it on one or a thousand-and-one databases! Here is how.

Windows Xp; IE8

Step 1:
Download and install Bqr1001

Download Bqr1001.zip and extract all files to a temporary directory on your hard disk. Double click on the BrowserQueryRunner.install.bat to copy files and create registry entries, create a shortcut to the readme.txt file from the start menu and open up the ConnectStrings.txt file with some sample entries.Modify the username, password and database instance name in this file in as below.

system manager xe
system manager xe as sysdba

Make sure to keep only the the username, password and database information with no empty lines on top or bottom or any comment lines anywhere. Save and exit.

Step 2:
Configure IE8 Command Bar

At the end of the install Bqr1001 starts a new IE8 window. Make sure to enable the command bar from Menu-View-Toolbars-Commandbar.

Close all IE8 windows. Open a new IE8 window.
Click on View from File Menu.
Select Toolbars and then make sure Command Bar is selected.
Right Click on the Command Bar and select Customize and then Add Remove Commands.
Select Seperator, BqrEdit, BqrRun, Seperator from the leftside and click the Add-> button to move them to the right one by one.

Now Click on the BqrEdit button  from the IE8 Commandbar.

Bqr1001 opens up a
notepad window with some sample queries. Save these or your own query and exit.

Press the BqrRun button and the Bqr1001-MultiDb hta window opens up.

The query saved from the IE8commandbar-BqrEdit can be viewed by pressing the ViewScript button here on the left side.

After checking the query, press the user@db_RunScript links to run the same query on any database.

The browser is primitive and has limited functionality but can be used to view the BrowserQueryRunner.htm and other relevant pages on sqlhtm.com. You can also search for a query from the web using google and run it using ClipRunRightClick from here itself if you have installed Crrc! Pull the frame borders on the left and right panels to resize them.

If the runner runs too long, remove stray sqlplus.exe, cmd.exe and mshta.exe processes from the task manager and restart Bqr, because user inputs with &, missing / or ; and spool commands freeze Bqr. Try logging out and relogging or reinstalling BQR1001 if needed.
