Run your Oracle query
from your IE8 browser. Just copy it into your clipboard
first.
Browser Query Runner

It doesn't matter it is a query
from the web or your file - if you can copy it to your
clipboard you can run it from your browser in just 2 steps.
Here is how.
Windows Xp;

Step 1: Download
and install BQR
Download BrowserQueryRunner.zip and extract all files to a
temporary directory on your hard disk.
Double click on the
BrowserQueryRunner.install.bat to copy files and create registry
entries.
Step 2:
Configure IE8 Command Bar

Close all IE8 windows.
Open a new IE8 window.
Click
on View from File Menu.
Select Toolbars and then make sure
Command Bar is selected.
Right Click on the Command Bar and select
Customize and then Add Remove Commands.
Select Seperator,
Bqr Edit, Bqr Run, Seperator from the
leftside and click the Add-> button to move them to
the right one by one. |

Open a web page with Oracle
queries from the internet.
Select a query[or queries] that
ends with a semicolon[;] or slash[/] and copy the query[or
queries].
Click on BqrEdit from the Command
Bar and paste your query, save and click on BqrRun on the command
bar to run and view the result.
Run one, some, or all
queries from a local file on the PC

Open a local file on your pc with IE8, copy one or more
queries, click on BqrEdit on the command bar, paste the
query into notepad, save it and press BqrRun from command bar
to run and view
it. |

Remember to enter the connect string when the
installer prompts for it.
Remember to keep the IE8 COMMAND TOOLBAR [
View-Toolbars-CommandBar] enabled, otherwise the BqrEdit and
BqrRun buttons won't show in the IE8 command
bar.
IMPORTANT: IT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL TO CONNECT TO
THE CORRECT DATABASE AS THE CORRECT USER!!!. |

UNINSTALL:
If you want to uninstall BQR, run
BrowserQueryRunner.uninstall.bat from where you
unzipped the zip file.
DEBUGGING TIPS:
Remember to remove or comment out any spool command
and keep a / or ; at the end of the query/queries.
Logout and re-login.
Uninstall and re-install Bqr. |
